While traveling in India the founder of the International Book Project noticed an issue. People in developing countries have a thirst for learning but they also have very limited access to books, if they have any access at all. In contrast, in developed countries books are so common that they are decoration or discarded unread. She started a non-profit to bridge this wide gulf. IBP takes book donations in the United States and distributes them by the container load to countries in Africa and to India. To date they have distributed more than 6 million books.
We designed a visual identity to bring their image up to the quality of work they were doing. We also animated the logo to show what they do. The book becomes an airplane that is distributed. The identity is youthful and fun while still being flexible enough to be professional when needed.
