Lexington, KY

Language intern

We offer internship opportunities that give you an insight into what it’s like to work for a small branding agency. We also want our interns to work rather than just gain awareness. We seek motivated, independent, creative, and empathetic collaborators.

Our remote internship is paid, flexible, and hands-on. Best of all, we promise real-world work. We want candidates who are up for a challenge.

The basics
+ All internships will be remote. We expect interns to work between 15 and 20 hours a week
+ Your schedule is up to you and will be agreed upon and finalized before the start date. We will be flexible if you need to adjust your schedule to accommodate homework, classes, and other jobs
+ There will be a midterm evaluation and a final evaluation. The intern and their mentor will complete evaluations to assess progress throughout the semester
+ We will compensate interns with a stipend for the duration of the internship. We will pay half at the midpoint and the other half at the final evaluation
+ You will need a capable computer to stay connected. If this is not an option, we will work with you to find a solution

Overall expectations
It’s a given that you should be:
+ reliable and punctual
+ deadline-savvy
+ able to work independently
+ able to juggle shifting or overlapping priorities

But you must also possess the gumption to over-communicate and get the job done, large or small. Working remotely is no joke. Distractions happen. But we believe the challenge increases our capacity to create. It allows us to think more critically and find new and better ways to work as a team and help our clients succeed.

Up for the challenge?

Language internship
Copywriting, Brand strategy, Naming, Social media

You have a passion for solving problems. Maybe you love creative writing or are a voracious reader. Or, you wrote for your school newspaper and now have a knack for listening to people and deciphering what needs to be heard. You might hear voices in your head (we don’t judge) and be able to translate those into words on a page. You notice names of places, things, and people and would secretly like to work for a nail polish company naming colors. In other words, writing, imagining, generating ideas, and thinking strategically happen for you regularly.

You are good at working independently but also collaborating with a small team. You are not afraid to speak up in a room of experts (this includes asking the occasional dumb question). You know how to unmute yourself in a virtual meeting and take good notes. You are familiar with giving and receiving feedback to make your work stronger. And, you are okay with throwing a lot away while uncovering what works best.

Holding language and design side-by-side sets us apart from other branding agencies. Our process helps us get to an organization’s core and write for them confidently in a vocabulary comfortable to them. We expect language interns to:

+ Write copy for client websites, social media, and marketing collateral
+ Participate in client branding workshops
+ Contribute ideas and write content for Bullhorn social media and articles
+ Review copy for grammar and mechanics
+ Conduct industry research and develop ideas and strategies for brand projects
+ Shadow and assist writers, meet/shadow designers, account managers, and other roles
+ Prepare for, attend, and participate in client and team meetings
+ Have strong communication skills, understand deadlines, work independently, and juggle shifting priorities

If this resonates, we want to hear from you. Please send the following to  apply@bullhorncreative.com.

1. Cover letter
2. Resume with references
3. Writing samples
4. Your Enneagram number

Keep up with Bullhorn
